Meet Jay McRae: Helping Clients Close with Confidence at Aristocrat Title

Published:  July 20, 2026

At Aristocrat Title, we believe every closing should leave buyers and sellers feeling confident—not confused. While title searches, document preparation, and coordination happen behind the scenes, the closing table is where everything comes together. It's also where clients should feel informed, comfortable, and excited about what's next.

That philosophy is one of the many reasons Jay McRae, Closing Officer in our Jeffersonville office, has become a valued member of theSmall jay Aristocrat Title team.

As part of our Behind the Columns employee spotlight series, we're introducing the people who make every real estate transaction a success. Since joining Aristocrat Title in March 2026, Jay has earned the trust of buyers, sellers, REALTORS®, lenders, and attorneys by creating closing experiences that are educational, professional, and welcoming.

A Passion for Teaching

Long before entering the title industry, Jay built his career teaching and training others. Explaining complex topics in a way that people could easily understand became one of his greatest strengths.

That passion followed him into real estate after he became a licensed REALTOR® in 2021.

When the opportunity came to join Aristocrat Title, it felt like a natural fit.

Today, Jay brings that same educational approach to every closing. Rather than simply directing clients where to sign, he explains what each document means, answers questions along the way, and helps buyers and sellers understand why every signature matters.

His goal is simple:

Every client should leave the closing table knowing exactly what they signed and feeling confident about the transaction.

That commitment reflects the culture at Aristocrat Title, where communication and client education are just as important as accuracy and efficiency.

Creating a Closing Experience Clients Remember

For many people, closing day can feel overwhelming.

Stacks of paperwork, unfamiliar legal documents, and the excitement of moving into a new home can make the experience intimidating.

Jay believes it doesn't have to be that way.

He works to create an atmosphere where questions are encouraged, conversations happen naturally, and clients feel comfortable throughout the appointment.

That approach has earned praise from buyers, sellers, and REALTORS® alike.

One recent Google review shared:

"By far the best closing we have experienced. Jay was so knowledgeable about the documents we were signing. He made sure we understood everything, followed through on every promise, and made us feel welcomed and important throughout the process."

For Jay, reviews like this reinforce something he has always believed:

A successful closing isn't measured by how quickly the paperwork is signed. It's measured by whether clients leave feeling informed, respected, and excited about the next chapter of their lives.

More Than a Real Estate Transaction

One closing, in particular, has stayed with Jay.

An older couple was purchasing a home after each had lost a spouse before eventually finding one another later in life.

During the conversation, they mentioned how much they missed Silver Creek Water Corporation before it became part of Indiana American Water.

That immediately caught Jay's attention.

His grandfather, Bob "Papaw" Belles, founded Silver Creek Water Corporation.

As the conversation continued, Jay learned the husband had served as a Jeffersonville police officer during the same years his grandfather served as an Indiana State Trooper.

When Jay mentioned his grandfather's name, both buyers immediately recognized it.

One of the buyers had also owned the truck stop in Memphis where Jay's grandfather regularly stopped for lunch—a place Jay remembered visiting as a child.

The couple had each known Jay's grandfather decades before they ever met one another.

Years later, they found themselves sitting across the closing table from his grandson.

"It's moments like that," Jay says, "that remind you this business is really about people."

Real estate has a unique way of connecting generations, families, and communities. Every closing tells a story, and Jay enjoys being a small part of those stories every day.

Rooted in the Community

Jay now lives in Sellersburg with his family and believes in giving back to the community he serves.

A lifelong Chicago Cubs fan, he also coaches Little League baseball, helping young players develop confidence, teamwork, and a love for the game.

He and his family are active members of Southeast Christian Church's Indiana Campus, where he enjoys writing worship music and encouraging others through his faith.

Whether he's coaching on the baseball field or sitting across the closing table from a first-time homebuyer, Jay believes the most meaningful opportunities come through serving people.
