Behind the Columns: Meet Colette Walker, Escrow Officer at Aristocrat Title Louisville

Colette Walker understands a real estate closing from more than one side of the table.

Before becoming an Escrow Officer, Colette spent six years as a real estate agent—helping buyers and sellers navigate the same transactions  she now helps bring to the closing table.

Today, as Escrow Officer at Aristocrat Title’s Louisville office, that experience gives her a valuable perspective. She understands what buyers and sellers need to feel comfortable, what REALTORS® need to keep a transaction moving, and how important communication becomes when an unexpected issue arises.

For Colette, a successful closing isn’t simply one where the documents are correct and the funds are disbursed.

It’s one where the people involved feel informed, supported and confident along the way.

That’s why we’re excited to introduce you to Colette in our latest Behind the Columns employee spotlight.

From REALTOR® to Escrow Officer

Colette’s path into the title industry began with her love of real estate.

After six years as a real estate agent, she realized that two of the things she enjoyed most about the business were building relationships and solving problems.

Moving into the title industry allowed her to continue doing both while becoming an important resource for the buyers, sellers, REALTORS®, lenders and other professionals involved in a transaction.

“My favorite part of my job is providing exceptional customer service and building relationships with the people I work with,” Colette says. “I enjoy being a resource for clients and industry partners, helping solve problems, and making the closing process as smooth and stress-free as possible.”

With more than two years of title experience in addition to her real estate background, Colette joined Aristocrat Title on June 11, 2026, as Escrow Officer in our Louisville, Kentucky office.

Behind a Smooth Closing

By the time buyers and sellers arrive at the closing table, much of Colette’s work has already happened.

As Escrow Officer, she supports the transaction from opening the file through closing, funding and disbursement.

That means coordinating with lenders, REALTORS®, attorneys, buyers and sellers; preparing and reviewing closing documents; addressing title issues that could affect a closing; and keeping the many details of a transaction moving in the right direction.

It requires accuracy and attention to detail, but Colette believes communication is every bit as important.

“I take pride in being responsive, detail-oriented and someone others can rely on throughout the transaction,” she says.

Her experience as a REALTOR® gives her an additional appreciation for that responsibility. She understands what it’s like to be on the other side of the transaction—waiting for an answer, managing a client’s expectations and working toward an important deadline.

That perspective helps shape the service she provides today.

It’s About More Than the Paperwork

Real estate transactions represent some of the biggest financial and personal moments in people’s lives.

For Colette, that’s something worth remembering.

“What I enjoy most about helping clients reach the closing table is knowing that I played a part in making an important milestone feel positive and successful,” she says.

“Buying or selling a property can be a stressful experience, and I enjoy helping guide clients through the process, overcoming challenges along the way, and celebrating with them when everything comes together.”

That focus on the people behind each transaction is an important part of how Colette approaches her work—and how we approach closings at Aristocrat Title.

The documents matter.

The details matter.

But the people signing them matter most.

Louisville Roots and a Career Built on Relationships

Louisville isn’t simply where Colette works.

It’s home.

She grew up in Louisville and lives here today, but her career and life have taken her to some remarkable places along the way.

Before entering real estate and title, Colette built her career in sales-focused roles. Most recently, she worked as a Regional Sales Representative for Hickory Nut Gap, a family-owned farm in Western North Carolina specializing in grass-fed beef and pasture-raised pork.

Working closely with chefs and restaurant partners reinforced something that has remained consistent throughout her career: good service starts with understanding people, listening to what they need and building genuine relationships.

Those skills translated naturally into real estate and ultimately into the title industry.

Today, Colette brings that relationship-first approach back home to Louisville, serving buyers, sellers and real estate professionals throughout Greater Louisville and the surrounding Kentucky communities.

Getting to Know Colette

Outside the office, family is an important part of Colette’s life.

She enjoys going to the YMCA with her sister, niece and nephew and spending time with her dad.

“He’s the greatest,” she says, “and I always appreciate the time we get to spend together.”

She also shares life with two Australian Shepherds that she affectionately describes as “beautiful—and too smart for their own good.”

Colette has also called some pretty incredible places home.

She spent nine years in Northern California and more than three years in Asheville, North Carolina. The redwoods and rugged coastline of Northern California and Southern Oregon still hold a special place in her heart, as do the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina.

So when we asked her to choose between the beach and the mountains, there wasn’t much hesitation.

Mountains, without a doubt.

Although she’ll make an exception for the rugged beaches of the northern West Coast, where the mountains meet the sea.

A few other things to know about Colette:

She’s a morning person.

Coffee wins over tea—“all the way.”

One of her favorite Louisville restaurants is 80/20 @ Kaelin’s.

And even when she’s away from work, real estate isn’t far away. She enjoys real estate and home renovation shows, especially House Hunters.

She’s also a huge Friends fan and has seen every episode more times than she can count.
