Behind the Columns: Meet Nicole Bridgewater, Title Processor at Aristocrat Title

Behind every successful real estate closing is a team of people working together to keep the process moving. From communicating with lenders and REALTORS® to coordinating paperwork and helping resolve title issues, every step plays an important role in getting buyers and sellers to the closing table. 

At Aristocrat Title, a locally owned title and escrow company serving Southern Indiana and Greater Louisville, Title Processor and Order Processor Nicole Bridgewater helps bring all those moving pieces together.

Working from her hometown of Paoli, Indiana, Nicole supports real estate transactions across all three Aristocrat Title locations: Jeffersonville, Paoli, and Louisville. Whether she's opening a new title order, communicating with real estate professionals, assisting with title examinations, or preparing for closing, she enjoys being part of the process that helps people move into their next chapter.

Since first joining Aristocrat Title in 2021, Nicole has continued building her knowledge of the title industry and expanding her role within the company.

In this edition of Behind the Columns, we're introducing you to Nicole, sharing how she found her way into the title industry, what she enjoys most about helping clients, and a few things you might not know about the person behind the paperwork.

Finding Her Way to the Title Industry

Nicole's journey to Aristocrat Title included a few different career paths.

After earning her bachelor's degree from Indiana State University, she worked as an office manager for a calibration company, in revenue audit at French Lick Casino, and even obtained her insurance license.

In 2021, after moving to New Albany, Nicole heard through her uncle, a local real estate agent and appraiser, that Bill Burns was looking for someone to join his title company.

She interviewed with Bill, Joanna, and Indiana attorney Ron Culler. Although she didn't have much previous experience in real estate or the title industry, her strong work ethic and ability to learn quickly helped open the door to a new opportunity.

What started as a search for a good job turned into finding an industry she genuinely enjoys.

Nicole originally joined Aristocrat Title in 2021 and worked with the team through 2022. After welcoming her oldest daughter, she decided to step away from work to spend time at home with her.

She officially returned to Aristocrat a little over a year ago and has continued building her knowledge, developing new skills, and becoming an even more important part of the title processing team.

Supporting Every Step of the Real Estate Closing Process

A real estate transaction involves much more than signing documents on closing day. Behind the scenes, title professionals coordinate with lenders, REALTORS®, buyers, sellers, and other parties to help keep everything organized and moving forward.

As a Title Processor and Order Processor, Nicole primarily handles the early stages of the transaction, including communicating with lenders and REALTORS® and helping get new title orders started.

Her responsibilities also include assisting with:

• Title examinations and reviewing property information
• Preparing title commitments
• Helping identify and clear title issues
• Coordinating with lenders and real estate professionals
• Assisting with closing preparation
• Learning closing procedures and post-closing processes

From opening a new title order to helping with the final details after closing, Nicole enjoys learning how every part of the process connects.

Her work supports Aristocrat Title's residential and commercial real estate closing services throughout Southern Indiana and Greater Louisville.

One of her favorite parts of the job is the people she gets to work with every day.

Even while working remotely from Paoli, Nicole feels connected to the team and appreciates the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals in the title industry.

More Than a Transaction: Helping Buyers and Sellers Reach Closing Day

For Nicole, one of the most rewarding parts of working in the title industry is getting to know the people behind each real estate transaction.

While researching a property and working through the details are important parts of the job, she also enjoys learning about the buyers and sellers along the way.

She understands that buying or selling a home can feel intimidating, especially when there are so many steps involved.

From opening a title order to preparing for closing, there are many details that need to come together. Being able to help clients navigate those steps, answer questions, and make the experience as smooth as possible is what makes the work meaningful.

Even before clients arrive at the closing table, Nicole gets to play a part in an important milestone.

She enjoys being able to cheer them on from behind the scenes as they move into their next chapter.

It's a reminder that a successful real estate closing takes an entire team of people working together, and every role contributes something important.

Paoli Roots and a Life Outside the Office

Nicole grew up in Paoli, Indiana, and still calls it home today.

As part of Aristocrat Title's team, she brings a connection to the Southern Indiana community while supporting transactions across the company's regional offices.

Outside of work, much of Nicole's time is spent with her two daughters, family, and friends.

She enjoys getting out to explore new places and try new things, but she's just as happy spending a quiet day at home listening to music, reading a good book, or reading her Bible.

When she's in the Floyd or Clark County area, one of her favorite local spots is Dragon King's Daughter, especially for sushi.

Her favorite vacation destination so far is Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, although she's looking forward to seeing where future adventures take her.

When time allows, Nicole also enjoys crocheting and has recently become a fan of Woobles crochet kits.

Getting to Know Nicole

There's more to Nicole than her work behind the scenes. Outside the office, she has a creative side and enjoys singing and playing guitar, a talent that might surprise some of her coworkers!

Nicole is a coffee lover and considers herself a night owl, although motherhood has helped her become more accustomed to early mornings. When it comes to vacation preferences, she'd choose the mountains over the beach, and fall is easily her favorite season.

She's also a fan of fantasy favorites, including Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings. When she's looking for a creative way to spend her free time, Nicole enjoys crocheting and has recently discovered Woobles crochet kits.

Above all, Nicole's faith in God is an important part of her life. She believes everyone has a purpose and strives to approach each day with faith, kindness, and gratitude. Her faith reminds her to appreciate life's blessings, learn from its challenges, and look for opportunities to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

It's a glimpse into the person behind the title paperwork and another reason we're glad to have Nicole as part of the Aristocrat Title family.
